PhD Exit Survey

The PhD Exit Survey gathers a wide variety of information from recent Penn doctoral recipients, and the results assist in monitoring the quality of Ph.D. education at Penn. Program level reports of survey data are regularly used by the Graduate Council of the Faculties during Penn's periodic review process of its various Ph.D. programs.

The survey is available starting May 26, 2025. The tentative closing date is May 25, 2026.

Penn First Term Experience (PFTE) Survey

The PFTE is administered to first-year traditional undergraduate students and was designed concurrently with the Penn Entering Student Questionnaire, enabling comparisons before and after students’ first semester at Penn. Capturing students evolving perceptions at this critical juncture in their undergraduate tenure enables a better understanding of how programs and policies might better support students in reaching their goals. The survey is scheduled to launch in January 2026.
